inspiring motive Canossian education has Christ Jesus, who is the revelation of the love of the Father as its centre, source and ultimate goal. It is offered within a structure, the Educative Community, which is an ecclesial expression and at the service of society.  
scope and objectives Its aim is to promote the integral and harmonious development of the person through positive relationships so that he/she may grow in the knowledge and appreciation of self and of the present realities and ultimately recognize God's love for him/her and his/her misssion. in society. To achieve this aim it is essential to:

- promote the growth of persons by appreciating their dignity and personal gifts

- orientate them towards self-knowledge and self-fulfilment and the discovery of self as a gift for others

- foster a healty self-evaluation through a correct interpretation of personal experiences of daily life

- promote the assimilation of knowledge and the ability to develop it and to form a critical and responsible conscience.

method The method used in education is preventive-promotional, keeping in mind the needs and difficulties of the individual so as to accompany and enhance the growth of the whole person. It is marked by a personalized, dialogic and gradual approach.  
     
style The style of Canossian education is expressed through a delicate blending of amiability and firmness, familarity and respect, gratuitousness and joy - (UR 142-144).  
     
sphere of action The preferential option for the poor today, requires that, in the first Ministry we be mindful of specific situations like financial poverty and lack of values, the exploitation and marginalization of women, youth exposed to dangers, drop-outs, immigrants and refugees.
