Canossian Youth Ministry

PARIS  -  XIV WORLD YOUTH DAY

Our Institute, animated by St. Magdalene of Canossa's charism,  actively participates in the mission of the Church. Its special objective is to form the young people, especially women, to a life of faith and to love Jesus and our brothers and sisters.

We journey along with the young people to help them to gradually grow as Christian up  to living their Christian life to the full and to proclaim the Gospel message daily by their life.

We pay special attention to discern God's personal call to each person.

Formation at personal and communitarian level begins with the adolescents and the young people who are tackling existential questions. As they review their faith and try to answer such questions, they  care for  the "formation of heart" and open themselves  to welcome the others and to commit themselves according to the logic of "self-giving" and solidarity.

Canossian Youth Ministry

The Canossian Communities  carry out their mission wherever  they are, also in conjunction with the pastoral activities  organized at parish, district, diocesan and national level.

In view of our specific charism, the main "places" where we meet the young people are:: "Oratori",  youth centres, school-camps, summer camps, camping... - Schools and  formation Courses for catechists, animators of adolescents and youth.

Pastoral activities in Secondary Schools

We reach out to the young  people by  sensitizing them to carry out social and charitable activities and to take care of the "least". Through formative itineraries like, for instance, spirituality days, spiritual exercises, especially for the final year students, we help them to grow in faith, and organize cultural and recreational activities, which are open also to  the students'  families and to the local people.

Educating Youth towards Voluntary Service

We urge young people to spend their "leasure time" at the service of charity and evangelization  either at local and national level, where the need is greatest, or abroad, in poor mission lands.

Centres for adolescents in moral danger

In these centres,  the young lay volunteers collaborate with the Sisters and lay adults.
